In order to enter a mine site the Mine Safety And Health Administration (MSHA) Part 48 regulations require you to complete a minimum of 24-Hours of Part 48 Surface New Miner Training. Our Part 48 New Miner Training covers Surface and Surface areas of Underground Coal Mines, Metal Mines, & Non Metal Mines. Part 48 also meets all the requirements of Part 46, meaning if you complete our Part 48 New Miner training Course you can work at Part 46 locations as well.
Safety Assessment Services (SAS) offers Part 48 Surface New Miner Online Safety Training created to meet regulatory requirements and keep workers safe while working at a mine. This comprehensive certification program available through our live online classroom, is the most convenient and innovative solution for miners, contractors and entities serving the mine industry.
Following the guidelines of our MSHA Approved Part 48 Training Plan for Metal Non-Metal & Coal. Safety Assessment Services provides this efficient simple cost effective training solution to all of our customers.

Our MSHA Part 46 Surface New Miner Training Course is designed to meet all MSHA requirements.
MSHA Part 46 regulations require that new miners, or first time workers, complete a minimum of 24 hours of MSHA training within their first 90 days of employment, 4 hours of which must be completed prior to beginning work at the mine.
Part 46 applies to shell dredging, sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate, and surface limestone mines. If your work is in other MSHA regulated operations or you are an independent contractor that operates in other types of mining operations, you may be required to complete Part 48 training instead.
Safety Assessment Services offers Online MSHA Part 46 New Miner Training with 8 hours of training created to meet 30 CFR 46.5 requirements, an additional 16 hours of task specific supplemental training is required to complete the 24-Hours of New Miner Training requirement. This comprehensive certification program available through our live online classroom, is the most convenient and innovative solution for miners, contractors and entities serving the mine industry.
This training would be based upon your Part 46 Training Plan that you have added Safety Assessment Services to. If you don't have a Part 46 Training Plan we can write a customized Training Plan for you.
When all 24-Hours are completed, your training certificate will need to be certified & signed by the person in your company responsible for mine safety and health training. This person is listed in your company's training plan.
